The story of La Moraleja is deeply rooted to its founder, Mr. Gabriel Ramis, also known as “Lito.” His life has always been connected to tourism and during the decade of 1940’s, Lito moved to Spain capital Madrid and in the big city he started to promote packages and trips to European tourists.

Gradually, Lito was setting up the foundation of a small company of hotels and travel agencies on the island of Mallorca. The first hotels of his emerging company were, of course, located at the town where he spent his holidays as a child: Cala Sant Vicenç, known as a true retreat for writers, painters, fishermen and travellers seeking for peace, calm and privacy.

Here, in Cala Sant Vicenç, Lito built his personal retreat, a place to relax and also a place where he would develop his all-time passions: painting, architecture and cars.

For the naming, Lito was inspired by the idea of the house he had planned to build in Madrid in the exclusive residential area of “La Moraleja”, but it was built it in the quiet residential area of “Los Encinares” instead. However, as guests can appreciate, the name remains.

The house became a place for him, his family and friends to relax as it provided the discretion and privacy he longed for.

In 1995, Lito decided to transform his home into one of the first five-star properties of the island. This is how the Hotel La Moraleja was born, with the ambition of offering maximum peace, privacy and discretion to its guests.

To date, Lito’s daughter and grandchildren continue with his legacy. A quiet small oasis away from the noise and the crowds. A unique and exclusive concept different to other standard hotels, that guarantees the most exclusive stay for a true summer break on the northern coast of Pollença.
