It is without a doubt the great natural attraction of Cala Sant Vicenç, perhaps one of the most impressive sights of the Serra de Tramuntana and, why not, of the entire island of Mallorca.
This mountainous wall of about 350 meters high and more than 3000 long was the "great love" of the painters of the popularly called "Escola Pollencina", a meeting of great artists around the master Anglada Camarassa in his residence in Port de Pollença . Painters like Joquim Mir and Santiago Rusiñol, or the locals Dionís Bennàssar and Tito Cittadini, among others, painted and tried to capture the ephemeral and changing light of this wonderful mountain every day.
There are countless paintings in the halls and rooms of the hotel that demonstrate the difficulty and variety of colors that have been used to capture that light and none of these paintings is comparable to the admiration of this great wall live and direct. That is why you have to look at it, look at it at any time of the day and thus admire the changes and unexpected turns that it offers us.
Its majesty is, in addition to the admiration of great painters, also because of the enclave in which it is located: it is the gateway to the Serra de Tramuntana, Mallorca's natural treasure, and it is surrounded by the most crystalline water coves in all of the northern area such as Cala Barques, Cala Clara, Cala Molins and Cala Carbó. Those same coves that also offer us natural spectacles worthy of being seen and that can go from absolute tranquility to a violence of marine waters of such dimensions that more than one experienced sailor has had the occasional scare.
That is why we always recommend looking at the Cavall Bernat, admiring it and keeping it in your memory, because its memory is always an aesthetic and natural wonder.
